Taking Refuge: Residential Retreat for Respite and Renewal

For most of us, each moment seems filled with endless activities. In the midst of the “comings and goings” we are seduced into forgetting the most important things in our lives.  Taking Refuge retreats create an oasis of silence, ease, comfort and gentle discipline that allows a looking deeply at what is most important.

Experiencing the Sangha jewel in the company of fellow travelers, participants study the present moment by allowing themselves to be held by the beauty of the natural world.  This precious time for respite and renewal centers around ample personal time, with optional participation in individual study, community wisdom circles, and private meditation instruction.

Taking Refuge retreats are a timeless opportunity to receive encouragement and support to deepen one’s commitment to living free from habitual conditioning. Emerging refreshed and unencumbered from this experience, one is more able to skillfully negotiate what arises moment to moment, bring balance and well-being to day to day environments, enter the dance of relationships with equanimity, and open to walking in the world fully awake, embodying wisdom, compassion, and supreme joy.

Rituals

Officiating of baby-naming, environmental blessings and purification ceremonies, funerals, lay Buddhist ordination, and weddings.
